Royal Star Magnolias on upper-ish Thurman.

Admiring all the gluten-bomb deliciousness at St. Honorée, I always feel a bit hipster asking bakeries if they carry anything gluten-free, but decided to check my ego today and dipped my toe in hipsterland.

Certainly, I'm happy I did. It turns out the boulangerie carries both a GF gateau au chocolat as well as a GF orange cake. Guess which one I chose?

Perhaps it would have been more blogger of me to have snapped a shot of le gateau before it was half-eaten, but I hadn't even considered starting a blog until a good friend suggested it mid-snack.

Yes, Megsh, I think I will. Thank you for the suggestion.

Megsh and I played a short game of Shadow Monster, which is essentially the mentally impaired half-sister of the beloved childhood game, Lava Monster. The design of the game is catered for those of us with mild, high functioning OCD. We avoided Shadow in the same manner in which one avoids Death. It was highly stressful, so after two blocks of playing leader, I forfeited my 1-up.

We walked very slowly down NW 23rd, as slowly as I always do when walking with Megan, and hopped into Pop-up Shoppe. I happened across some beautiful dresses made by a designer and musician friend, Madeline, for her independent fashion line, Made in China. Such vibrant handmade textures were fitting for the warm 52*f day.

Later, I visited Emyli A with Oliver Kiddie, Pocket Tiger Extraordinaire. I'm in the process of leash training him, so we sat outside with Ruby Fox and enjoyed the remaining sunshine.
